State of Nonprofit Consulting Survey Results
National Survey and Focus Group Highlights (February 2013)
As part of the research process to develop ImpactRising, CompassPoint was contracted to co-develop, distribute, and analyze a survey of nonprofit leaders about their experiences finding, screening, working with, and evaluating consultants. CompassPoint additionally conducted a focus group to explore more qualitatively the key survey findings.
About the survey sample:
- 264 participants, 80% of whom are executives or senior managers
- National representation from 24 states with highest participation in California, Michigan, and Tennessee
About the survey:
- Co-created by CompassPoint, Shiree Teng, and Groupaya in an online survey tool and distributed via regional intermediaries
- 56 questions, including an in-depth, 30-question series of questions exploring how they found, vetted, worked with, and evaluated the consultant they used on their last significant consulting project.
